Available Foundation Scholarships

Spring 2016

The following scholarships will be awarded in spring 2016. To apply for a scholarship, please fill out the scholarship application. You only have to fill out one application to apply for every scholarship for which you qualify. The Foundation is honored to have the support of so many prestigious organizations and donors. They are the reason that RTC students receive the support they need.

 

Allied Health Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Allied Health

This scholarship is generously supported by donors who believe in the students of Allied Health. Donors include community residents, as well as RTC faculty and staff.

1 to 3 students will receive $250 to $750 for the spring quarter.

 

Biella Foundation Scholarship

Eligible candidates: All RTC students

This scholarship is generously supported by the Biella Foundation, a non-profit established by a local resident to support local community and technical colleges.

5 to 10 students will be awarded $500 to $1,000 in spring quarter.

 

Boeing Company Scholarship

Eligible candidates: IT, Engineering, Human Resources, or Manufacturing

This scholarship is supported by the generous donations of The Boeing Company. Boeing knows that the next generation needs support in order to prosper. That’s why they yearly donate to RTC to support student scholarships.

5 to 7 students will be awarded $250 to $500 each quarter.

 

Columbia Bank Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Accounting, Entrepreneurship, or Office Management

This scholarship is supported by the generous donations of Columbia Bank. Columbia Bank is committed to supporting the education of students in office management, small business, and accounting.

1 to 3 students will be awarded $250 to $500 in the spring quarter.

 

Commercial Building Engineering Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Commercial Building Engineering

This scholarship is supported by donors who believe in the students of RTC’s Commercial Building Engineering Program. We are honored to work closely with Cole Industries, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council, Macdonald-Miller Industries, CH2O, Inc. and the Stationary Engineers Training Trust to support our students.

3 to 5 students will be awarded $250 to $500 in each quarter.

 

Early Childhood Careers Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Early Childhood Careers

This scholarship is generously supported by donors who believe in the students of Early Childhood Careers. Donors include community residents, as well as RTC faculty and staff.

1 to 3 students will be awarded $500 for the spring quarter.

 

The Leona Hickman Educational Trust Scholarship

Eligible candidates: King county residents

This is money supported by the Leona Hickman Educational Trust group. They are committed to ensuring the next generation of professional receives a quality education.

3 to 7 students will be awarded $250 to $500 for the spring quarter.

 

The O.J. Harper Memorial Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Precision Machining

This scholarship is in memory of Ormand John (O.J.) Harper, founder of Harper Engineering located in Renton, Washington. To continue his commitment to supporting the next generation, Mr. Harper generously gifts funds to support RTC scholarships for many years to come.

3 to 7 students will be awarded $250 to $500 each quarter.

 

Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Aerospace and related programs

This scholarship is supported by the generous donations of members of the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance (PNAA). Every year the PNAA hosts a conference for industry leaders. Donations from this conference go to support scholarships at local community and technical colleges. We are honored to be supported by the PNAA.

1 to 2 students will be awarded $1,000 to $2,000 for the spring quarter.

 

The Ronald B. Fahey Memorial Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Automotive

This scholarship is supported in memory of Ronald B. Fahey. It is supported yearly to ensure that automotive students are able to complete their education and begin their career.

5 to 11 students will be awarded $250 to $1,000 for the spring quarter.

 

The Rotary Club of Renton Scholarship

Eligible candidates: City of Renton residents

The Rotary Club of Renton is a local community group dedicated to raising money for worthy causes and local programs. They understand the importance of RTC and its students in building the next generation of community leaders. That is why they yearly donate to support student scholarships.

2 to 4 students will be awarded $250 to $500 in spring quarter.

 

Rottler Manufacturing Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Precision Machining students

This scholarship is supported by Rottler Manufacturing. Located in Kent, Washington, Rottler Manufacturing knows the importance of a quality education in building the next generation of workers. That’s why they yearly donate to support RTC and its students.

3 to 7 students will be awarded $250 to $1,000 for the spring quarter.

 

The RTC Foundation Scholarship

Eligible candidates: All RTC students

This scholarship is generously funded by Foundation donors to make sure that every student is eligible for at least one RTC scholarship. Donors include community members, as well as RTC faculty and staff.

5 to 14 students will be awarded $250 to $1,000 for the spring quarter.

 

Steve Hanson Student Leadership Scholarship

Eligible candidates: Students with school involvement

This scholarship is supported through Student Leadership and Associated Student Government. It is in honor of Steve Hanson, the retired president of RTC. We are honored to work with ASG to help support RTC students.

4 students will be awarded a $500 scholarship each quarter.
