Admission Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Satisfactory completion of a 5-credit Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology course or its equivalent with a 2.0 GPA within five years prior to entry.
  • Must take the COMPASS test within 1 year prior to application, with minimum scores of:
    • Pre-Algebra, 40-59
    • Reading, 56-74
    • Writing, 56-74
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English
  • Student must complete and pass a Nationwide criminal background check within 3 months prior to admission into the program at (use package code EO81at).
  • Student must meet vaccination and program specific health requirements in compliance with the Center for Disease Control Healthcare Provider immunization guidelines, including the submission of original lab results, x-ray reports and immunization records which are dated and signed by their healthcare provider.   • Current evaluation by a physician or nurse practitioner to ensure student and patient safety. The evaluation should address the following areas in respect to the student's ability to perform the laboratory skills and clinical responsibilities related to becoming an anesthesia technician:
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and to reach overhead
    • Ability to stand or walk for long periods
    • Absence of chronic skin conditions on hands and arms
  • Health insurance, both injury and sickness, is required for participation in the program.
