Program Outcomes
We are “teaching tomorrow’s bakers today”!
After successful completion and graduation from the Professional Baking
program, graduates will be able to work effectively in a professional baking
environment; our students are working in retail bakeries, specialty shops,
in-store bakeries, hotels, caterers, restaurants, and other baking and food
related businesses.
Graduates can interpret a variety of weights and measurements, calculate
recipes, understand cost control, and inventory systems. They have experience
and knowledge in applied math, communication and human relations, safety and
sanitation, industry terminology, and interpersonal relationships as these
relate to the professional baking field.
Graduates have practical knowledge in scaling and mixing, dough production,
breads, pies, pastries, cookies, doughnuts, oven work, cakes and specialty
decorating.
