O.J. Harper Donates $50,000 to Renton Technical College Foundation

RENTON, Wash. – The late Ormand John (O.J.) Harper of Issaquah donated $50,000 to the Renton Technical College (RTC) Foundation in support of scholarships for students in the precision machining technologies (PMT) program. The funds will also support the Foundation’s current emergency services program. “O.J. Harper’s generous gift will help many current and future students achieve their educational aspirations and, in turn, add to our economy and community,” said Dr. Kevin McCarthy, President of Renton Technical College.

 

Renton Technical College Proud to Host 2015 Washington State Boiler Symposium

The Washington State Boilers Symposium steering committee is celebrating its 10th anniversary by getting ready for the next event, scheduled on August 12 and 13, 2015.  This unique event was founded by Renton Technical College (RTC) with Bates Technical College, the Western Washington Stationary Engineers Training Trust, and several key, regional employers to insure the commercial building workforce remains current in its state continuing education requirements.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — New data and analysis of two- and four-year schools released recently by the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program provides fresh insight into how well colleges prepare students for high-paying careers. Renton Technical College ranked 13 in value added in the Brookings “Beyond College Rankings” assessment, the highest rated institution in the State of Washington.

Renton Technical College's Scholarship Breakfast Raises More Than $30,000

RENTON, Wash. – The RTC Foundation Scholarship Breakfast raised more than $30,000. It is the highest grossing scholarship breakfast to date.

More than 180 people gathered on RTC’s campus last week with Angela Russell, former KIRO TV news anchor. Attendees heard moving testimonials from student and alumni speakers sharing the impact RTC has made on their lives.
