“Washington 45” Transfer Courses

The “Washington 45” is an agreement between public two-year and four-year colleges in Washington state.

You can take up to 9 classes, for a total of 45 credits, to transfer as general education requirements for a bachelor degree.

You need to earn at least a 2.0 GPA in each class, and you still have to meet the admissions requirements for your desired university.

Renton Technical College offers all of the classes you need for the Washington 45. Just follow the simple guidelines below to start on your transfer pathway!

  • Humanities: choose 2

    • ENGL& 111 Introduction to Literature *

    • PHIL& 101 Intro to Philosophy

    • MUSC& 105 Music Appreciation *

  • Social Science: choose 2

    • PSYC& 100 General Psychology *

    • SOC& 101 Survey of Sociology *

    • POLS& 202 American Government *

  • Natural Sciences: choose 2

    • BIOL& 160 General Biology *

    • CHEM& 121 Introduction to Chemistry *

    • GEOL& 101 Intro to Physical Geology *

    • PHYS& 114 General Physics I

The final class can be anything on the list above that you haven’t already taken.
