Proposed Student Conduct Code and Hearing Procedures

Renton Technical College has made revisions to its Student Conduct Code and Hearing Procedures as an emergency rule filing and is currently in the process of adopting the changes as a permanent rule. The revisions are in response to the Department of Education adopting new Title IX regulations earlier this year. The state community and technical colleges’ Assistant Attorney Generals have been assisting the Washington State Student Services Commission members to ensure that the codes and hearing procedures are compliant with federal Title IX regulations and in alignment with recommendations by the Assistant Attorney General’s office.

A public hearing regarding the permanent rule changes will be held to receive public comments on the proposed changes on October 22nd, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Building C, Room C-110 or on Zoom.

You can view the full filing document here to view the changes.
