Eligibility Requirements

The Workforce Education Opportunity Grant is a program that can assist with specific programs of study. This program can support eligible students with a maximum of 45 credits of tuition/fees and up to $1,000.00 per academic year for books and supplies. Due to limited funding, merely submitting an application does not guarantee that you will receive an award. 

To be considered for assistance from the WFE Opportunity Grant, you must meet all five of the eligibility requirements listed below. Please carefully review this list.   1. Student must be a Washington state resident student.
  2. Must have family income that is at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level during the 2023 calendar year (refer to chart).

  3. Must not have earned an Associate's Degree or higher.

  5. Must have completed 2024/2025 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) and have financial need based on that application.

Services Available

Eligible students may receive funds to cover tuition/mandatory fees and up to $1,000 per academic year for books and supplies for up to a maximum of 45 college credits.

Eligible students may also qualify for support services including:

  • Tutoring
  • Emergency child care
  • Emergency transportation
