The Renton Technical College Security Department maintains and publishes a daily crime log for the institution. Crime log entries include all crimes reported to the Campus Security Department, not just designated Clery Act crimes. The Crime Log includes specific information about criminal incidents, not crime statistics. The Crime Log is designed to provide crime information on a more timely basis than annual statistical disclosures within the RTC Annual Security Report. Crimes included in the Daily Crime Log are associated with our Clery reportable campus geography and Campus Security patrol jurisdiction.
The Crime log contains six elements for each incident:
- Crime classification
- Incident number
- Date and time reported
- Date and time occurred
- General location
- Disposition
The Daily Crime Log is maintained electronically within our records management system and is available in hard-copy format for review in the Security Office located at 3000 NE 4th St. Renton, W.A. 98056 Building N, room 101. The Daily Crime Log for the most recent 60-day period is available and open for public inspection during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. For requests of the Daily Crime Log outside of the recent 60-day period will be made available within two business days upon request.
