A work order is a documented request for maintenance, operational, or repair work to be completed. A work order may take more time and attention to complete due to analysis, parts sourcing, and labor. RTC faculty and staff can submit work order requests; provide as much detail as possible about the location and task in the work order description text box.

  • Examples of work orders:
    • Small office moves (Custodial)
    • Cleaning (Custodial)
    • Garbage removal (Custodial)
    • Fixture installation (Maintenance) 
    • Ventilation repairs (Maintenance)
    • Plumbing repairs (Maintenance)
    • Mechanical, structural, electrical repair (Maintenance)
    • Lighting repair (Maintenance)
    • Painting / signage (Maintenance)
    • Maintain, repair, improve campus grounds (Grounds Services)

 

  • Things that do not qualify as work orders:
    • Organizing work space
    • Maintaining cleanliness of work space (desks, computers, shelves, etc.)
    • Cleaning minor spills, or garbage
