As part of Renton Technical College’s Strategy Equity Plan and in accordance with RCW 28B.10.147, the institution will perform a college-wide campus climate assessment as well as listening and feedback sessions. The goal is to ensure that DEI priorities and initiatives are grounded in current and transparent data, shedding light on the existing state of the college and revealing equity gaps.

Campus Climate Assessment Results

RTC opted for the HEDS Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey as the primary tool for gathering insights from students, faculty, and staff. The survey was designed to obtain valuable feedback on various aspects, including:

Listening Sessions

Listening sessions will be scheduled each year between the survey-based campus climate assessments.

In collaboration with Be Culture, the Campus Climate & Data Equity Committee hosted listening sessions. The Committee identified key populations of focus based on survey findings: Faculty, Disability & Accommodations (open to all faculty, staff, and students); BIPOC Experiences for Employees; LGBTQ+ (open to all faculty, staff, and students), and BIPOC for students, in addition to an all-college group.
