Certificate of Completion

This program, approved by the Washington State Board of Massage, prepares students to become professionally licensed to practice therapeutic massage for health maintenance, assessment, and rehabilitation of body tissues and systems. Therapeutic massage is an integral part of sports medicine, injury recovery, physical, mental, and emotional well-being. A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon successful completion of core course requirements (two [2] attempts per course only).

Associate of Applied Science

This program, approved by the Washington State Board of Massage, prepares students to become professionally licensed to practice therapeutic massage for health maintenance, assessment, and rehabilitation of body tissues and systems. Therapeutic massage is an integral part of sports medicine, injury recovery, physical, mental, and emotional well-being. To earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Applied Science-Transfer (AAS-T) degree, students must complete all requirements of the certificate program plus 25 credits of General Education and 15 credits of Massage Electives.

To be admitted to the Massage Therapy Practitioner Program, a prospective student must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum age: 18 years by the beginning of the third quarter

Upon invitation and acceptance to the Massage Therapy Practitioner Program, students must provide confirmation of an account established with CastleBranch.com and pass a nationwide criminal background check (Crimes Against Persons list).

Screening and Tracking Requirements

  • Annual background-check through CastleBranch.com
  • Personal health insurance upon entry and for the duration of the program
  • Current (within one year) physical evaluation by a physician or nurse practitioner to ensure student and patient safety. The healthcare provider’s consultation must include a physician’s release that states that the student is safe to give and receive massages.
