Dental Assistant student Jianhua He was about to start his internship, but he couldn’t afford to have his own dental work done. As a full-time student, Jianhua’s budget was tight. The Foundation provided an emergency grant so Jianhua could get the long-overdue care he needed at the community dental clinic on campus and start his internship with a great smile.

During the 2017-2018 academic year, the Foundation provided 185 emergency grants totaling $33,000. Emergency mini grants help keep students on track with their education and training even when their personal budgets are not enough or life’s unexpected expenses threatened to derail their schooling.

When health issues and unexpectedly losing her housing forced her to move farther from school, automotive student Stacey Halstead turned to the Foundation and received a gas card.
