Two outstanding Renton Technical College students are among this year’s top community and technical college students.

Hafnia Proctor and Leo Ragual were named to the All-Washington Academic Team and honored at a ceremony at South Puget Sound Community College. The All-WA Academic Team program recognizes students who belong to the Theta Kappa Honor Society and are committed to success in the classroom and their communities. Their stories reflect the access and opportunities that RTC and all 34 community and technical colleges provide students. This year’s honorees:

Hafnia Proctor

Hafnia maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA in the Cybersecurity program. After immigrating to the U.S. at 20, she overcame significant challenges to pursue her education and build a better future. Her passion for cybersecurity is driven by her commitment to making a meaningful impact in national security. She advocates for equity in STEM and shows leadership in fostering support networks for women in technology. Hafnia plans to transfer to Western Washington University and eventually work in government cybersecurity.

Leo Ragual

Leo is a student leader who maintains a 3.9 GPA in the Computer Science program, preparing for a future in software engineering. His passion for programming began in high school, where he excelled in building personal projects and collaborating with peers. He is the Associated Student Government treasurer, participates in the AI Club, and continues developing his leadership and technology skills. Leo has met with legislators to rally support for technical college education and shows initiative for fostering community through campus events and student government leadership. He plans to transfer to Western Governors University to further his studies.
