What is a waitlist?

The waitlist feature offers students a fair and consistent way to enroll in a full class if openings occur. Students who choose to be placed on a waitlist will be automatically enrolled in the class if space becomes available.

You can view your waitlist position through View My Waitlist Position.

How do I add or remove myself from a waitlist?

Step-by-step instructions on how to add yourself to (or drop yourself from) a waitlist can be found by using the ctcLink for Student page under “Enroll for Classes” or “How to Drop from Classes.” It is your responsibility to drop the class if you no longer wish to be waitlisted.

When do waitlists close?

The waitlists will continue to move as space becomes available. Waitlists will close at 11:59 p.m. PT the night before the quarter begins (refer to Academic Calendar for specific dates). After that time, you will need to contact the instructor for permission to register.

Will I be notified if I am enrolled?

It is your responsibility to monitor your position on the waitlist and if you are enrolled. You can check your waitlist status on your ctcLink account and by using View My Waitlist Position. If you are enrolled from the waitlist, view your schedule to determine additional tuition charges.

What steps do I take after receiving instructor approval to join the class?

If the instructor approves your enrollment, submit an Enrollment Form and the instructor’s approval in person or through email

To submit in person: Visit the Registration Office in the Student Success Center (Bldg. I) with the instructor's permission and completed Enrollment Form. Hours can be found here: Department Directory.

To submit online: Forward the instructor’s approval with a completed Enrollment Form to registration@rtc.edu.

When is tuition for the added class due?

Tuition must be paid by the appropriate tuition deadline.

After the quarter begins, tuition is due at the time of enrollment. Official enrollment is not complete until tuition and fees have been paid in full. If tuition is not paid, students will be dropped from the class for nonpayment of tuition and fees.
