As a veteran student, you have multiple applications to complete. These applications can be completed concurrently. Use the step-by-step instructions below to get started:

  1. Apply for your VA Educational Benefits by visiting the US Dept. Veterans Affairs' "How to Apply for the GI Bill®" page.
  2. Meet with an Entry Academic Adviser to explore career pathways, college services and discuss entry requirements. However, the Academic & Career Advising team is available to serve the public over the phone, online, and through email.
  3. Apply for admission to Renton Technical College:
    • Online Services (Click on the "Admission" link in the left navigation)
    • Mail the application to:

      Renton, WA 98056
    • In-person at the Admissions/Registration department in building I - Roberts Campus Center during business hours.
  4. Meet with Veterans Services to review and submit the documents needed for your VA education benefits file at RTC. Connect via 425-235-6570 or by email veterans@rtc.edu
  5. If applying for financial aid you are advised to start your financial aid application as early as possible due to lengthy processing times. Apply for Financial Aid by visiting the FAFSA website.
  6. Request Official Transcripts from other schools you’ve previously attended. These should be sent directly to RTC from your prior school.

  7. Request Official Joint Service Transcript (JST) from classes you received while in service from JST's Transcript Request site.
